removing the carbon footprint of St.George OpenAir Cinema
As an event which celebrates our environment, St.George OpenAir Cinema is committed to minimising the carbon footprint of the event. With our sponsors and through our partnership with carbon management company, Pangolin Associates, we’re continuing initiatives started 3 years ago relating to this endeavour.
Specific initiatives we’re undertaking include;
- Implementing emissions reduction behaviour by:
- Printing our program and other printed materials on carbon neutral or recycled paper.
- Adopting responsible waste disposal practices and, where possible, choosing recyclable or biodegradable cutlery, plates and plasticware for the event’s restaurant and bar.
- Minimising our carbon emissions by ensuring we think and act green in as many ways as possible, including the supplies and suppliers we use, and the organisations we partner with.
- Periodic comprehensive greenhouse gas emissions assessments by Pangolin Associates to track the success of our emissions reduction strategies.
- Offsetting any remaining greenhouse gas emissions with fully certified carbon credits.
