From the acclaimed director of Walk The Line, James Mangold, comes an intense, sharply honed character drama that starts at a gallop and barely lets up. An update of the 1957 western based thriller by Elmore Leonard, 3:10 to Yuma pairs two of today's finest actors, Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, in an epic struggle between good and evil.
When infamous outlaw Ben Wade (Crowe) is surrounded and captured, struggling rancher Dan Evans (Bale) joins the posse charged with delivering him to the 3:10 to Yuma, the train that will take Wade to trial and a certain hanging. But the train station is a three-day journey away, and in that time the posse will face critical threats from within and without. And by the time the train whistle sounds, Dan Evans' last-ditch attempt to save his ranch will have evolved into something deeper and more profound.
"Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are two of the finest actors of their generation, and their talents are put to great use."
Ebert & Roeper
"Lean, almost absurdly satisfying."
Boston Globe
"One of the best westerns you'll ever see. 3:10 to Yuma starts like a barnburner, matched by unrelenting suspense to its wrenching climax. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are superb masterfully directed by James Mangold. There will be a long wait before another one this good comes along."
