While the FBI wonders why anyone on a salary of several hundred thousand dollars would turn on his employer, Whitacre eagerly agrees to wear a wire, imagining his actions will lead to a promotion. But unfortunately for the FBI, their lead witness hasn’t been altogether honest about his own actions.
