Woody Allen returns to Manhattan with an hilarious romp in which SEINFIELD co-creator Larry David plays an eccentric, grouchy New York quantum physicist, Boris Yellnikoff, who risks a lifetime of pessimism by marrying a young, wide-eyed Southern belle (Wood). Everything seems to be working out unexpectedly well until the bride’s separated parents arrive in town, setting in motion a delicious and riotous series of entanglements and catastrophes.
