Carnage is a razor sharp comedy featuring outstanding performances from an ensemble of four actors at the top of their game, Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, and John C. Reilly. After two boys duke it out on a playground, the parents of the “victim” invite the parents of the “bully” over to work through their issues. But polite discussion of childrearing soon escalates into verbal warfare as long held frustrations are revealed, and family ties disintegrate in favour of gender alliance. And when the coffee gives way to whiskey, the origins of their children’s behaviour becomes all too apparent. No one will escape the carnage.
Directed by Roman Polanski, Carnage lays bare modern frustrations in 80 intense minutes of drama and hilarity.
