Each summer evening, our harbourside venue transforms into a festival of film, food, drinks and summer in the city. As night falls an unrivaled cinematic experience unfolds, as our giant screen rises from Sydney Harbour to stand three storeys tall before an eagerly awaiting audience, in front of one of the world's prettiest backdrop.
Located at Fleet Steps, Mrs Macquaries Point, our cinema is adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and set within the historic and protected Farm Cove. Find maps and directions below.
We think that drinking and dining at our harbourside restaurant and bar is as much a part of the OpenAir experience as the film itself. With a array snacks, share plates, meals, fine desserts cocktails, wine, beer and spirits we have dining and drinking options to suit all tastes.
Each year we bring you the most exciting mix of preview and premiere screenings as well as a few of our recently released favourites. We will have more to share on our 2020 program later in the year so sign up to our newsletter for the latest updates.
"I managed to experience the perfect marriage of art and nature at the St. George OpenAir Cinema. Every sense is catered to. I ate tempura-battered fish and chips from the cafe, sipped fine wine from the bar, and took a seat beneath the ancient trees... As darkness fell, an enormous cinema screen majestically rose from water level, accompanied by triumphal music..."
